Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a progress monitoring tool that will be administered three times per year to track and monitor your child’s progress in learning the Benchmarks of Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards throughout this school year. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your child will take the Renaissance Progress Monitoring 3 (spring assessment) STAR Reading and STAR Math on two separate days during the month of April and May. The results from PM3 will show how well your student has mastered the grade level content standards, and you will be provided with information about how to access the results after testing is completed.
FAST assessments are computer-adaptive tests taken on a computer or tablet. The questions get easier or more difficult depending on how the student responds, and each student will see different questions. If you or your child would like to review sample items at home, sample test items are available at https://flfast.org/resources/renaissance-star/renaissance-star.
The Star Reading assessment usually takes about 30 minutes to complete, and the Star Math assessment typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The STAR Early Literacy usually takes around 20 minutes to complete.

OBE Field Day will be taking place this week. Please remember, lunch times will be adjusted on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please check with your child's teacher on their lunch time if you're planning on joining your child for lunch.
We are so thankful for the Santa Rosa County Maintenance Team! They are responsive and help keep our school in working order. They help our school by maintaining the air conditioning, plumbing, lighting, doors, and so much more! We have the best team, and we're so thankful for them!
